Let’s talk about why you should choose the Pune Campus:

1. Prestigious Institutions- For the parents, it is natural to be worried more about their child’s future. Getting your child admitted to one of the best schools in Hadapsar, Pune is a dream come true. But shifting your child to a new campus in Pune can be a little stressful for your child.

Given below are the tips to manage stress of moving into new Pune campus:

1. Have a conversation with your child

Conversations can solve major things, so have a conversation with your child often and keep your child updated about the new change that is going to happen. If you can have an honest and open conversation with your child then it will help him to mitigate the fears.

Question your child about concerns he has regarding the new school. Assure him and tell him that you are there with him to deal with any new challenges that he might face there.

2. Keep a positive attitude

Keep a keen eye on your child and try to understand any deviation of the pattern of behavior. Encourage kids to have a positive outlook but for that, you too need to have that in you. Because if you are anxious, it will start to reflect in your behavior.

Your child will catch the negative vibes that will make him even more anxious. So it is important that you stay motivated and remain calm. It doesn’t mean that you need not address the challenges that he might face. The more enthusiastic you are the better your child is going to cope in the new school.

3. Give the child some control

As a child, it is difficult to take control of the situation. So let your child get some control over the situation. Give him the choices and let him select on his own what he wants to take with him to the new town. This will reduce the anxiety of your child as most of his anxiety about going to a new place and new school is because of the sense of loss of control. So giving him smaller options like letting him choose the bag pack he wants to carry will do wonders.

4. Plan a sneak peek

Shift to the new city well in advance so that you can visit the new school with your child before the actual date of the start of the session. This will help your child to familiarize with the environment of the new school. This will ultimately help to adapt better. Walk around the school, meet the faculty, interact with them, and visit the playground and classrooms.

5. Create a routine

Even before the joining date, travel to the school with the same route so that you can familiarize your child with the new route. Try to keep as many traditions as from the old school routine. Because the sudden drastic change in everything is going to hamper your child’s adaptability.

6. Get involved

It would be great if you could be involved in your child’s activities. Engage with the school principal and teachers by attending parent-teacher meetings and by joining any platform in which interaction of teachers and parents is possible. The more you get involved in the school activities the easier it will be for your kid. Even if you haven’t tried this in the old school, try to inculcate this habit in the new school.

7. Talk to the school teachers

Even if it is not a parent-teacher meeting, talk to the teachers and introduce your child. This will help the teachers to enable your kid to adapt better. The teachers may introduce your kid to the whole class. Instead of giving a chance to choose their partners the teacher can assign partners for the initial few days. Then they can check with your child whether he is comfortable or not and accordingly do the changes.

8. Schedule a get-together

In the new school as your child will make a friend then you can plan to invite his family for lunch or evening snacks. This will not only help you to get an idea of your friend’s behavior and the impact it might have on your child but also it will help to make your child more comfortable.

If you feel that the company of your child’s friend is fine then you can even talk about having play dates in which your kid and his friend can play together even after school.

Get your child involved in extracurricular activities, as it is a great way of letting your child open up. This helps to make better bonds with the batch mates and it will also increase his interest in school. So moving to a new place and new school can be a daunting process for you but if you will keep the above things in mind it will be a lot easier and more fun too.All the best to you and your child.
