High School

What is CBSE?

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a renowned pedagogy which prepares students from Classes 1 to 12 for competitive examinations while facilitating entry into the world's leading universities. This approach to holistic education enables students to focus effectively on academics, as well as pursue their interests in sports and extracurricular activities.

The Curriculum

An interdisciplinary teaching at GIIS gives students a powerful opportunity to apply knowledge, principles, and values to more than one academic subject simultaneously. CBSE’s global curriculum comprises built-in activities and exercises which promote cross-curricular learning.

This approach supports two important GIIS goals:

Ability to apply knowledge effectively in a variety of contexts

Engage in higher-level reasoning skills.

Teachers leverage this method into an enriched learning experience by helping students more easily connect with the material. In addition to learning how to surmount demanding academic rigours, students also learn how to apply skills learned in the classroom to real-world challenges.

Bridge Programme

Our Bridge Programme is an important feature which allows our students to start at any time during the school term and receive the assistance they need to catch up with their peers. Rest assured that your child will be learning with his/her classmates as quickly as possible.

This specialised programme exists to help students of all grade levels make up for lost time, complete important lessons and classwork, and catch up academically with their regular class.

Our academic add-ons are programmes that give additional boosts to a student's learning curve through targeted studies, helping them focus on additional areas and concepts at no extra cost.

We provide STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) related material that helps students understand key concepts in the subject by creating working models of these concepts; use online tools like HeyMath! to hone their mathematical skills and conduct detailed assessments through which the teachers understand every child’s strengths and weakness in particular subjects.

A great initiative by the GIIS team has been to include CCA activity. Along with virtual classroom, the CCA activities have been highly beneficial to students . Our daughter who is part of Art and literature clubs is very happy while learning some fine nuances of Mandala art and aspects of book reports. These activities support the student creatively to expand their thoughts and also feel rejuvenated. We highly appreciate this initiative and look forward to many more.

Last year, I enrolled my son in class KG1 at GIIS Balewadi Campus. Due to Covid, the schools had to go digital and opt for Online Classes. GIIS adapted quite smoothly to this sudden transition, and I was amazed to see that even children got used to this way of schooling comfortably. One of the positive counterparts of online schooling is its transparency, as we parents understand what the teachers teach our kids.

This is my daughter's 1st year in school and I am happy with my decision. Teachers are well educated and have adapted very well to the concept of the virtual classroom. In this demanding & challenging situation, they are doing a splendid job. In my observation, children are having engaging sessions and are still interested in the process, although they can not see their teachers. The school also carried out the tests very smoothly, and the kids also found it easy to work on google forms. Overall I am pleased with the transition of teaching to the virtual model.

"Global Indian International School is unlike any school. They’ve done their research and understand that children learn best by questioning, creating, and applying knowledge. Through many student-inspired projects and an interdisciplinary curricula, my son is learning to be passionate, curious, creative, and innovative. GIIS knows how to keep kids curious to learn more. The change in my kid since starting at GIIS is nothing short of transformational. GIIS has taught my son not only about academics but also so much about himself. The school model allows him to explore his thoughts and ideas– through both successes and failures – pushing him beyond his own preset boundaries. The teachers celebrate his successes and steadfastly stand by his side with support when it is needed. It’s a wonderful environment to grow in."

CBSE Assessments and Outcomes

For students of Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme (CLSP), this is the first step towards choosing International Curricula as their mode of higher study.

The Cambridge IGCSE aims to cultivate the development of critical skills in students, including creative thinking, enquiry and problem solving. In doing so, the programme lays the vital groundwork for subsequent lifelong learning.

Communication and Interaction

We make sure that parents are involved in the education and growth of their children at every step.

All information about the student is shared with the parent through our customised portal - myGIIS - which acts as a communication platform between the two sides.

Newsletters and emails are sent periodically, while each parental query is responded to within 24 hours – unless it is punctuated by a weekend, public holiday or vacation.
