The CBSE class 12 board exam 2022 is just around the corner. It is a time of hectic preparation as students try to focus on staying calm despite the nervous energy.

At such a time, the best thing to do is to strategize and make sure you haven’t missed out on any topic in any subject, no matter how insignificant it might seem.

A CBSE preparation method always comes in handy at such a time. To begin with, you must know if you are familiar with the CBSE class 12 syllabus. It will help you understand how to prepare for the 12th board exam using the right strategy.

The term 2 exams will consist of 50% of the syllabus. The duration of the exam will be 120 minutes and the exam will be in a subjective format.

Now that you are aware of the syllabus you need to focus on, let’s take a look at the study plan and the board exam preparation strategy.

CBSE Class 12 Exam: The Study Plan and Strategy

Ideally, you must start preparing for your CBSE class 12 exam term 2 as soon as the syllabus is completed.

1. Prepare Early

You must have heard the saying, “The early bird catches the worm.” It means the one who arrives first has a greater chance of success. Keeping this in mind, you must begin preparing as soon as your academic year begins.

The early months will consist of learning and understanding all the concepts in detail. This will help you strengthen your basics. Once you are thorough with the basics, then studying and revising the portion will help you be fully prepared for your exams.

Often, students take it easy during the initial months of their 12th grade and start preparing only later, when it is too late. Setting a daily study schedule right from the beginning of 12th grade will ensure you are prepared for your final exams in time.

2. Know your Syllabus and the Exam Pattern

Knowing the syllabus and the exam pattern helps understand some very important things, such as, from which chapters the most questions are asked in the exam, which are the easier topics, and which are the difficult ones.

This way, you can reserve more time to revise those important chapters or topics, work harder on those that you find difficult, and give less time to the easier ones

3. Collect all the Necessary Class 12 Study Materials

Make sure you have all the important study material with you during the preparation for board exams. Here’s the list of study material you will need:

Study books for all subjects

● CBSE Class 12 solutions for all subjects

● Class 12 sample papers

● Class 12 papers from previous years

● Class 12 marking scheme

● Class 12 question bank and test series

4. Prepare a Study Plan

Once all your study material is in place, prepare a study plan. It is an important CBSE preparation method. Make sure you prioritize the difficult or important subjects and topics. Set an hour to two hours of continuous study time and then give yourself a break.

Your study plan must not feel hectic for you. Prepare a plan based on your capacity. A plan that suits you best will help you study well without leaving you feeling exhausted.

5. Set an Achievable Target

You must be aware that the CBSE class 12 syllabus is vast. You can not complete it at one go without exhausting yourself. So, avoid complex study plans. Set a target that you can achieve and complete your revision in batches. Set daily or weekly targets, and give yourself time to complete your school portions, too.

6. Make Revision Notes and Solve More Problems

Make notes at the end of every chapter about its concept. Prepare a separate book for theorems, formulae, and methodologies, and solve the problems or questions on completing every chapter.

Once you are thorough with the concepts of that chapter, solve more problems on that particular concept before moving on to the next. In case of any doubts or difficulties, approach your teachers and sort out the doubts in time.

7. Take Breaks

Every 2 hours, take a break of 10 - 15 minutes to refresh and rejuvenate your mind, else you will be fatigued, physically and mentally. Regular breaks will also improve your efficiency and help maintain the rhythm throughout.

8. Stay Calm

Staying calm is most important while preparing for the CBSE class 12 board exams. Stress, worry, and anxiety will never help you. These will hamper your study preparation and sap you of your energy. Daily meditation of at least 15 minutes will help you calm your nerves and improve your concentration and memory.

9. Say NO to Distractions

Today, the biggest source of distraction is the smartphone. Its constant pings and notifications are a major disturbance while studying.

Switch off your phone or turn off all notifications and place the phone in another room when studying. This will help you give 100% to your studies and you will achieve a sense of satisfaction, too.

10. Change the Plan if you Don’t Feel Good

Anytime during studies, if you feel the plan doesn’t feel right, change it. You hardly get a few hours to study after school hours. So, plan that time well, taking into consideration your energy levels and concentration.

11. Solve More Question Papers

Once you have completed revising the entire syllabus, start solving question papers. The more papers you solve, the more confidence you will gain, and the more you will improve your speed. You will also get a clear idea about the style of question papers and how well prepared you are.

12. Learn Time Management

Solving previous years’ question papers and studying the study material will help you learn how to manage your time. It will also help improve your problem-solving speed during the final exams.

Conclusion

Following the above CBSE board study tips, shared by GIIS International School Pune, will help you prepare yourself well for your class 12 board exams. You will be mentally prepared, too, and the nervousness won’t bother you. Being confident about yourself before exams will help you solve your question papers brilliantly and increase your chances of success. Wish you the very best!
